Ensuring the quality of our supervisors is of utmost importance to Motivo. We take great care to match you with supervisees who align with area of expertise and preferred modalities. This starts with an introductory call with your prospective supervisee to ask questions and assess supervisory fit. After you get started, we’ll check in with you regularly to gather feedback on how supervision is going. If you are unsatisfied, we are here to help.

Motivo partners with many different types of behavioral health employers in order to free up internal resources that may be providing supervision today. We serve community mental health centers, non-profit organizations, digital health apps, treatment centers, hospital systems, and health plans. We assign each employer partner to a dedicated Care Team who ensures organizations are matched with the best supervisors for their needs, helps train supervisors on an organization’s internal processes, and remains in close contact with you to make sure you have all your questions answered.

Absolutely! We verify the licensure credentials of each supervisor on our platform. We also complete a face-to-face alignment call with supervisors to learn more about the supervisor’s experience, areas of expertise, and approach to supervision. Lastly, all Motivo supervisors sign a legal attestation form to verify that they meet the requirements to supervise in their state.

We have nearly 1,000 supervisors, licensed in most states across the following license and certification types:

• Social Workers: (LCSW, LMSW, LICSW, etc)
• Professional Counselors: (LPC, LPCC, LCPC, etc)
• Mental Health Counselors: (LMHC, LCMHC, etc)
• Marriage and Family Therapists: (LMFT, LCMFT, etc)
• Licensed Psychologists
• Addiction Counselors: (CADC, CSAC, LADC, LCACD, LCAS, MAC, etc)
• Behavior Analysts: (BCBA, LBA)
• AAMFT Approved Supervisor Mentors
• Registered Play Therapy Supervisors (RPT-S)

It varies greatly depending on your state’s rules regarding virtual supervision and the number of supervisors we have in your state and license type. Some supervisors are matched with their first supervisee within a matter of a few weeks, others wait months or even a year before receiving an inquiry. For this reason, we do not charge our supervisors for listing their profile on Motivo. There are a few tips we’ve learned about how supervisors can make the most of their profile – so if you would like a second pair of eyes on your listing, please feel free to reach out to us at community@motivohealth.com.

Yes, we will collect your zip code during onboarding and do our very best to match you with a supervisees within a drive-able distance for in-person supervision.

We sure do! From your dashboard, you’ll see a summary of the date, time, and duration of your Motivo supervision sessions. You can export a report of your hours as an Excel or PDF document.

Yes! We require all of our supervisors. to be well-versed in the supervision documentation needs and requirements of your state and licensure type. This will be an item you’ll want to discuss on your intro call with a prospective supervisee.

It depends. If a student would like to utilize Motivo, we ask them to first obtain permission from their graduate university and placement site. If they receive approval, we are happy to match the student with a Motivo supervisor.

We hope you’ll be with us for a long time, but if you decide to move on from Motivo, we’ll be happy to match your supervisees with another supervisor through our platform. Please provide 30 days notice to community@motivohealth.com if ending the supervisory relationship with actively matched supervisees. 

Motivo’s platform is accessible from anywhere that you have internet access. Your virtual supervision sessions can be joined from your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smart phone.
